Aloe vera and cystitis

Aloe vera and cystitis: a valid ally to fight one of the most frequent inflammations in women.

What is cystitis?

Cystitis is a known inflammation of the urinary tract that mainly affects women, since they have a shorter ureter than the male ureter. According to some statistics, this disease affects 1 in 4 women at least once a year. Attacks people aged 20 and up by progressively increasing the incidence with age, particularly after menopause.

In most cases, cystitis is caused by bacterial infections. One of the micro-organisms most involved in this problem is Escherichia coli. Bacteria, when the body is in certain conditions, for example with a weakened immune system, go up the channel that connects the bladder to the outside, causing inflammation. Usually the disease resolves spontaneously in two weeks, but resisting the symptoms is not at all easy.

The alarm bell symptoms are difficult to confuse:

  • Problems with urinating
  • Presence of blood in the urine
  • Pain during urination
  • Sensation of heaviness in the bladder

Aloe vera and cystitis: properties of the plant

The aloe vera plant has many beneficial properties. In addition to being a powerful anti-inflammatory and natural antibiotic, it is a valuable aid to fight and prevent urinary tract diseases caused by fungi and bacteria, such as cystitis and candida. It is particularly effective in treating these diseases because of its antifungal properties!

The aloe vera gel then acts in two ways: externally it acts as an antibiotic by killing bacteria, internally through oral intake strengthens the body’s immune system.

Aloe vera and cystitis: how to use it?

Aloe vera can be used in different ways to combat cystitis. The universal rule is to drink a lot of water, at least two liters a day, so as to eliminate the bacteria that cause bladder infection. To make this method more effective, just add 50 ml of pure aloe gel in a two-liter bottle of water. After mixing, drink in small sips during the day.

The aloe gel can also be diluted in tea or hot water, so as to create an effective herbal tea. Just pour a teaspoon of aloe in a cup of water. The herbal tea will be drunk twice a day.

External use instead provides a wash with warm water and aloe. To prepare this detergent, simply dissolve 10 ml of product in 500 ml of lukewarm water and wash it outside the intimate areas. The cleansing should be done twice a day, in the morning and in the evening.
